Untitled
Recently, more specifically this week, I haven't been continuing with my blogging. This is due to the experiencing of a particular difficult week. I guess from previous posts you would have realized that I started the week (Monday) with only 3hrs of sleep the previous night. I guess it just snowballed so everyday I'm like this zombie dragging myself to work, to meet whoever after work and back to my sanctuary. I could really feel it this morning when I literally feel shagging just walking - partly due to me not having breakfast yet - but just walking to work, it's tiring, and scary. I guess human beings just ain't robots - we need rest. As bacca pointed out I'll tend to boil over easily. Perhaps it's true, I mean you can't stand a lot more things when you're feeling tired, frustrated and down.
A change of mood. Let's talk happy stuff! I like bringing joy to people. I mean..everyone WANTS to be useful. And for me, I particularly like making people's mood soar, ok maybe that's exaggerating but yep just making people happier =) Some examples that I can think of right now is during night cycling some enjoyed the fisherman's fren I offered. Another time was when wiNs asked me what to eat at suntec, and she really liked what I recommended =D Little things like this, makes me feel very much appreciated. Although it's not like I made someone day or something, but trivial stuff like this is really heartwarming to me.
Since I haven't been blogging really often this week, some updates on my days so far...
1. I went to watch Dance Uncensored @ UCC. The performance was not too
bad, but I guess the thrill of being there was more of the highlight. Oh! And I met my primary sch classmate. She gave me the widest, warmest and most cheerful smile I've seen from friends in a long while! Come to think of it we've such a strange friendship
2. I snapped MJ loO on Monday and we went out looking like we were the most gayest homos in town. I mean we wore the same bloody shirt! And that's like the second time this kind of crap happened to me. I mean such coincidence or whatever you call it can only happen once in a blue moon, how can it happen twice on the same person!!?? Oh my gosh.. So for an extended period of time I draped a pullover and bear with the heat resulting from overdressing. Photos will be up soon so you guys can laugh @ MJ

Check out the picture. How gay is that?
3. We snapped sHiao the next day and we made an astounding discovery! loO a.k.a Mr lanG-gAo isn't gay. He's a freaking bi idiot! And he's sick in the mind. Clue: why has he got a new name??

"Life's simple pleasures" One of my all-time favourite quotes!
4. loO and I met for lunch as usual today @ outram temp mkt. And guess who we just saw? Mr gOpaLan!! Gosh what are the chances of bumping into someone, who so happen to take leave from work and lunch at the very same place where we usually do? I mean..seriously, I think Fate is such a playful thing. Theoritically, it's almost impossible cos there are countless of possibilities that we don't bump into each other, but hell no matter how low the chance we still did. And yes, I do believe in such things as Fate. Oh yar, how can I forget? I think this week's ice-cream treat shall be by Joel!! Yay... Guys, make your vote now!
5. I have a new friend! And she's half jap and half chinese, cool right!!?? Okay, I don't want to go into the details of this new friend but yeah I'm so excited at knowing that I've a friend who is half jap and half chinese, period. I mean who gives a damn about half indian and half chinese? Thats like you throw a stone u will hit one; you go to lunch, you will meet one.

Fatigue plagues me...
Today is an ultra-dun-feel-like-blogging day - cos I'm really tired and dowan to vomit words, even though I have things that I want to blog about. Shall put them off and see if the next time I come in I still feel like.
When a friend dies, the shared conversations, the shared experiences, the bonds of friendship can no longer be renewed. It is as if a thread has snapped. The thread is still there, but the person holding the other end had loosened his hold. The thread is slack.
- from a fren's blog (originally from Benjamin Sheares' obituary)
Can't help but nod in agreement after reading it.
Can't help but share it with you guys.

Belated Spring Cleaning
Another 4am night, with the exception of tmr being a working day so I should be getting less than 3hrs of sleep tonight. Great. Reason why I slept so late is because I just had a revolution in my room. Everything is upside down or rather not where it was. This is to accommodate an incoming desk (i hope). So while shifting this afternoon I realized everything's damn dirty so did some cleaning up. And so I just finished at 3am.
Yesterday, I went to cut hair with kanGster aka xiaomEi. It feels nice for the first time to have people staying near me. And so I met her to her usual cut hair spot. It wasn't the first time I've been there but in kanG's words "the hairdresser never disappointed me once". And the way she styled my hair afterwards, I just can't do it myself no matter how hard I tried. Sadly.

Check out kanG's new look. It's nearly the typical lian fringe but somehow with her ultra cute face she pulled it off without a pinch of lian-ness. Cheers!

I like the serenity of the night
Yes I do. What else can explains why I'm awake at 4am, even though it might be a Saturday night? Well, the week has been a rather interesting one for me. It might be a little routine, but still there are certain things that stand out personally.
Some photos to begin with..

Kungfu Milk Tea with Thick Toast. Ultra famous? I dunno. But definitely ultra yummy!! =)

Arts Museum at night. Glorious.
On Tuesday, loO and I decided to snap yc for lunch. Okay actually it wasn't a snap at all because yc is freaking busy so we had to make an appointment with his secretary a week ago and she reluctantly granted us 1/2hr of makan time with him.
It certainly feels good to be working near friends.
The rest of the days went like work normally did. Just with plenty of more work nowadays, more documents for my fren's dad to vet, more OT and less freedom. But still I ain't complaining cos I'm starting to like the crowd in my office. They stay young even though some ain't. Role models for us. And they reminds me of my HQ life back then. Plenty of welfare in the form of food. Everyone's birthday was celebrated and hence there was cake for everyone! Great, chocolate cake this week was outstanding! =P
Friday, I tried snapping sHiao, cJ & loO for dinner, but loO pulled a i-had-to-eat-dinner-with-my-sister and so it nearly got cancelled. Luckily wiNs learnt the art of snapping after I did a crash course for her, and boy, she applied it really fast! She snapped us guys + jacQ, or maybe she was meeting jacQ in the first place. No issue.

Look how ecstatic wiNs was upon seeing us =)
Oh anyway, contrary to what loO mentioned on his blog, he felt really rich that day so he decided some kind of treat was necessary to erm...demostrate his wealth. Ok I was joking he wanted to share his wealth. So he took us to the most expensive ice-cream he can find in suntec (as if)

Here you go, loO posting with his trophy of generosity!

The holy grail. By the way, it was yummilicious =P
Some more food for the night.

The famous Q Q rice ball. My dear queued an hour for this. Deeply touched. Even though you won't be reading this, thank you =D

Good Morning Every Beloved Young and Old
Just when my previous post commented on how impossible morning blogging is nowadays, here I am, blogging away after finishing my apple struden (or however it spelt) and sipping away at my morning coffee. Nevertheless, such a luxury has been only made possible by working OT yesterday.
Yesterday was a snapless day. Rightly though, loO decided to be filial after being otherwise all his life (just jk don't take it too personal plse). With also my dear having other committments, I decided to spend monday alone and not go around snapping ppl - it's kinda irritating isn't it, when you get snapped either you agree or you've to give some excuse. I spent an extra hour in my office working for free. Many people would chide me for being so dumb. Who in the world works for free!? Well, I prefer to see it in another way. Since I'd the luxury of time, I can put in a little more work so I can have an easier day today. Something intangible that people don't see is this - oh by the way I was the last one to leave office - it leaves a lasting impression on people, whether conscious or not, that at least I am, if not very efficient and smart, hardworking. It doesn't really matter how fast you finish work at your desk, because people who gives you work don't realize you're doing it very fast. But I guess it does matters when you're a temp staff and you're working till everyone, including every single perm staff is gone. It makes a hell lot of difference.
Well anyway, after work I went borders to freeload some books. I've decided that since I can read books there - of course at a little expense of time - why buy them? I mean people read most books once. So unless you want to play it like sHiao who shares his booklist with everyone, it's quite meaningless owning so many books yourself! And I can see the idea falls pretty well among many others, especially the working class. Think of it, say you're a slow reader. You spend an hr or so everyday after work at borders. You can finish a book in a week, 4 in a month, and 52 in a year! An hr isn't really a lot, is it? And say another person, who reads the same books as you, with books costing say 17 each...you would be almost 900 bucks richer than him/her!!
Oh sharks! Why do I end up counting everything in monetary terms?

Time & Tide Waits for No Man
Remember when I first started work, I used to blog every morning when I come in to work. Well, times have changed. Right now I'm the busiest temp staff in the office. This morning, I just did something totally out of my job scope. I became the Utility Man as I helped shift files, move shelves, carry tables, fix partitions and set up computers. While doing all of that, I was thinking of the pile of work left behind in my cubicle and how on earth am I gonna finish all of that. Morning blogging has been and will be a thing of the past. Right now while I'm blogging, I'm simultaneously feeding myself, lunching at my desk. Fortunately, as a certain loO always justifies our heavily slashed paycheck, temp staffs have no responsibilities whatsoever when it comes to handing in work.
The weekend was pretty alright. I went to meet loO and sHiao. sHiao was cutting his hair at chinatown point kimage, which stunned me when I came to know of it. I mean there's this guy from da funties who used to not freaking care about his image and now there he is splurging on haircut!!? No further comments -_-'"
Anyway we decided the night was still young and good so we decided to do some exercise. We strolled from outram to chinatown to clarke quay, then to funan to do some shopping. Sorry for the interruption but I would like to complain about a certain KFC counter girl. Com'on wake up your idea not every single human being in the world likes mayonnaise so freaking get the order correct and keep your attitude in your pocket. I mean you are in the SERVICE industry so jolly well give some good SERVICE. Back to the walking part, we continued to head to raffles city, dhoby ghaut, all the way to orchard. That's a total of 6 mrt stations! To think both loO and I had train concessions and sHiao suggested mrt, how on earth did we end up walking!?
I spent yesterday lazing at home. It's been long since I spent Sunday at home, just doing nothing significant in particular and a little of my own personal time. In army they call it admin time. I guess it's something like that. Phantom of the Opera was the Sunday prime movie - which I missed almost the entire show because my bro was watching the lost world on cable TV - but it doesn't really matter since I'd the VCD. I really regretted not buying tickets for the upcoming POTO (the real thing) as that period of time I was a little short. Well, I guess I'll have to watch it next time it comes. As someone once said: broke is temporary, poor is permanent.
Oooh.. Just as I was typing in I got a call from a doctor, one of those attending the event I was coordinating. It's so shiok speaking to those doctors because they'll be ultra polite. I'm not sure whether it's because they chose to (to uphold the DOCTOR's reputation) or they had to (because we're their in-charge). Either way, it feels good to be politely spoken to because manners is somewhat of a rarity these days. For example plse refer to 2 para above ^_^

A Necessary Response
to shiao's justification. It was so well-written it can almost become a testimony for the school. No wonder they got you in there!
I guess you really got it spot on there.
Product differentiation. SMU is successful in its marketing campaigns because of this. It emphasizes on being different from the rest of its fellow institutions. Instead of focusing on traditional results like providing a complete education or personal development, they turn towards producing marketable and very employable students. I mean who joins SMU for its CCAs? This brings me to another point. Consumer Sovereignty. SMU provides employers - which in this case are consumers - with people that they desire. People who are well drilled in the workings of society, interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, networking and versatility. It offers society what they want. To simplify shiao's inevitable cycle of repetition, students join because they want to become desirable, and employers continue to employ them, further reinforce the desirability.
However, I beg to differ that the asian culture will remain intact. Culture is not a measure of the percentage of foreign students. It's something invisible, not measurable but rather felt. Just as with the influx of western culture, it does not necessary means more foreigners or westerners, but just means people's attitude and lives are changing. The Culture is changing. U just can't see it or count it.
I do not blame the decline in social morals on SMU though - it's illogical. But I believe people DO get more evil if they are moulded in such a way, especially during the sprouting years when we come of age. If people are trained to kill in school, naturally they WILL kill when they leave school.
I agree with shiao's self-fufilling prophecy. Nevertheless, I have to state my stance that I believe it will ultimately show through. No matter what kind of good students that SMU takes in and in turn "produce", people outside will soon realize a stark contrast from that of the conventional schools. Through prolonged exposure and observations, they will discover the gap - that humility is clearly missing, that arrogance and individualism are what they swore by, that pride and hypocrisy replaced a certain uprightness and sincerity in them.Once again, the above post is surely the writer's expressions of own (biased) viewpoint. It cannot and must not be taken as an evaluation of the above mentioned organisation. 12,000??
As I was conversing with a certain shiao just now, I got reminded of yesterday's news of reports showing SMU grads are drawing the most basic starting pay. I can't help but comment about it, due to my overwhelming dislike for that institution. Hear me out. This is MY theory.
Due to the hype about SMU over the past few years, even before the first batch of grads came out, people were going gaga over their teaching methods, their culture and less importantly its location. It's usual to hear comments that they produce innovative students, but what real studies have been carried out to compare their so-called improved teaching methods, as compared to the conventional ones? Even if so, how accurate as such studies, if the grads haven't been studied over a prolonged period of time, haven't really proved themselves in the market. Despite that, just the name of their institution just makes employers' eyes light up.
Just to prove how much the name SMU has internalised itself into the nation's renowed leading business/accounting/management training centre, I just have to mention that I may be taking Economics to relatives/colleagues/friends/strangers, their reaction would almost be unanimous - why dowan to SMU? I hate really to explain time and again my reasons. To prevent you guys from asking me, here's why:
(1) SMU boasts of a Westernised culture. Something I rather resent. We are, by default, an Asian society. Especially Chinese, who have been brought up by the values of family, team, cooperation rather than stand strong and alone. I believe many people who go in struggle to come to terms with this fact, that they find it extremely hard to "fit in".
(2) SMU is a highly competitive school. People will do anything to be in front. This even at the expense of betraying your friends or close ones, I shall not go into any details. I guess the school trains people to be this way, for they must think of preparing students for the society. But in fact, it's people who bring over this culture to society. Such that now morals is a rather scarce resource.
(3) SMU is located in town. Sorry SMU wannabe(s) or gonnabe(s). I regard the temptation of being located in the center of the entertainment district too high for schooling. As much as the location is a very good advantage, with the aid of NEL and the upcoming Circle Line, I would still rather locate myself far from the city centre. It's just too little of a school.
People can claim I am a biased source of argument. Whatever. I say give the society 5 - 10 years to see the results. Let these so-called eiltes compete with the conventional grads. It is a marathon, not a race. Disclaimer: The above post is merely a depiction of the writer's views and solely up to the reader's interpretation. I'm Weak!
I just reached home. And I can't resist the urge to blog something I just experienced.
You see, I was leaving borders as it was closing for the day. I was alone and out of the corner of my eye I caught this rather good looking lady. I took a second look and realize she was quite well-dressed, though I can't remember the top, the bottom is a denim mini skirt, not that kind of tight one which wraps safely around your thighs. Whats more is that lady is actually half-leaning on the railing, which is glass from the bottom. So I happen to notice one group of guys were engaged in some kind of gathering downstairs, and many of them were actually gazing up! I mean the girl was standing in such a vulnerable position and she actually didn't realize it!!
So right at the moment several options occurred to me:
(1) Walk away and pretend nothing happened
(2) Walk up to her and try to hint implicitly about her vulnerability to visual attacks
(3) Walk up to her and in the most serious, honest tone, say the truth
It's obvious that (1) will have no effect whateverso. (2) & (3) have their risks. I could be accused of being pervertic or worse complained of having outraged her modesty, by speaking in some way or another that is unappropriate.
As much as many of you guys would have expected, I chose the cowardice act. To more vividly paint my situation, I hung around, walking here and there while trying to make a decision. It was a decision I was really ashamed of. But I just do not know how to go about doing something requiring much courage. I'm such a coward!! =(
What would you do?

Ups and Downs
Since I started blogging, I've always go to the fullest of my abilities to choose the type of font that I feel most people would find pleasant reading. I've always avoided font types like the one I'm using right now, even though I LOVE this kind of writing. But today I feel like doing something that I want, rather than something that everyone else may prefer. I feel selfish, seldom so but today. Selfishness is a point of view. It IS the way one views another - oh he is so SELFISH. It's not a universal truth.
I miss the good old days of pursuit. You know, you may not think it is, but I'm darn sure that's when every little sweet thing is euphoric to either of you. It's when your hormones are flying and your feelings are like butterflies. It's when every teeny weeny thing coax the best of the receiver. Your heart nearly flew out when she said yes to a date. Your mind went missing when you saw her dressed up for you. Your world stopped when she nodded bashfully. It's those times when logic means nothing, when reason becomes distorted and when you feel you can survive a thousand feet fall! Yet, those times are disturbingly insufficient. Not because they're too short, but because they only come once every twenty years.
I used to think simple LOVE was sweet love. But it's only when you dedicate your time, your life, your heart and soul and love into one other person, you realize it's no longer simple. In fact it can't be more complicated than any other thing in the whole wide world, because there IS no right or wrong, there is no reasoning and there is nothing that can prove you right or otherwise. And no one single person can actually lay claim that his/her love for someone is more than another, for love is not measureable. It is not A quantity or whatever so, it is not comparable because it is always different.
People used to dream of Love-at-first-sight and stuff like this, like fantasies and fairy tales. But in actual fact most of us develop love. Many like to say it is something not within their control to love or not love, I myself possibly falling victim to the former, but it is in fact a mixture of situation and CHOICE. People choose to love. People choose to throw themselves in. Child of the wilderness
Born into emptiness
Learn to be lonely
Learn to find your way in darkness
Who will be there for you
Comfort and care for you
Learn to be lonely
Learn to be your one companion
Never dreamed out in the world
There are arms to hold you
You’ve always known your heart was on its own
So laugh in your loneliness
Child of the wilderness
Learn to Be lonely
Learn how to love life that is lived alone
Learn to be lonely
Life can be lived life can be loved alone

Fate
...likes to make fun of people. On a day when I’m dressed to my most casual to work, there happens to be a disciplinary hearing which I should be attending, had I been more appropriately attired. Somehow, I’ve always been dressed up to my best capabilities, even on Fridays where there's supposedly smart casual. Crap shit, now everyone thinks that I under-dressed and is a freaking heck care teenager. Worse, the first time I talked to the guy who roped me in, it's to tell him that I ain't properly attired. So disappointing...

I...
...wasted a Sunday sleeping.Yesterday the guys had a kickabout session @ potong pasir street court outside SAV. Reason being was school was being used for SAJS sports day. A bunch of little kids running about. Shouts of Hoseies and Loyfats. But anyway, our session was very much all us and was really fun, for it's been awhile since I played soccer in a court. Till then, a bunch of SAS guys came and really turned us off. We kindly dismissed them by shifting place. We went SAS to play bench soccer in a really dangerous basketball court with cars and swimming pool nearby. And the scorching sun drained us all. After the workout Leo n Ivan went to meet the dean of FASS. I din go cos I'd to get pressie for my fren, as I was going his party at night. I guess since this is the year 2007, every tiger baby 21 years ago will be holding some kind of celebration, be it big scale or mini. Attendance would surely means one can't go empty-handed, even though it might be someone you don't usually give presents to. Sounds forced isn't it? Well in the negative sense it is. Hence I try to avoid going to such parties whom the birthday boi/grl I don't really consider myself "close" to. I kinda regretted going last night, as the only 2 persons I know there was the birthday boi and his buddy. We were 1st 3 mths classmates you see. So being the antisocial me I just stood around not knowing what to do. One of his frens saw me rather lonely and approached me, introduced me to others. It made me feel better. During the party, the birthday boi got drunk cos everyone wanted to toast him (purposely). So for an extended period of time he wasn't there, essentially we celebrated his birthday without him. My other classmates soon arrived together. I can really feel the gap between us all, we seemed to have nothing much to start a conversation on. Or rather, when I tried to start something it just ends at them. I took the last train home from Woodlands.

Sweet, Sour, Bitter
"There is no safe investment. To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love
anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly be broken. If
you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no
one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little
luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket - safe,
dark, motionless, airless - it will change. It will not be broken; it will
become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. The alternative to tragedy,
or at least to the risk of tragedy, is damnation. The only safe place
outside Heaven where you can be perfectly safe from all dangers and
perturbations of love is Hell."

Me the Slacker
Yesterday I pulled a stunt and flashed a MC. Technically, I didn't need a MC and I didn't NEED to see the doc. However, due to my overindulgence in nightly recovery-and-rest activities, I found myself ringing my office up and reporting a MC. Eventually, I dragged myself to the clinic and got some medicine for my flu and cough..and a MC. Realising that I will have $60++ less in my pocket at the end of the month, I decided to make an "investment" with the little cash I have in my pocket then. I invested in Tottenham, hoping they'll put 2 over a team I haven't even heard the name before. Unfortunately, they didn't and thus I lost my investment fund. =XThere's one perm staff in my office that reminds me of Christina. The way she communicates with people, her tone, attitude and basically the way she carries herself. Coincidentally, she makes me feel most comfortable talking to - probably more because all the other people in the office tend to stick to themselves rather than talk to me. The other temp staff in the office seemed to have been around for a period of time. They tend to group together, go for lunch breaks together and stuff. I feel weird mixing with them, they're probably too kantang for me. Add to the fact I don't really have high EQ and socialising abilities, hence I actually feel quite lonely in this office. But it's pretty ok cos during office hrs you don't talk to people anyway. And during lunch time I can either snap MJ for lunch or use that time and do something alone. These few days I just found out that my cousin who studied in AJC did better in the 'A' Levels than me. It's actually quite a relief for I was always the guy they like to talk about when it comes to studies. I think he got 4As and A1/2 for GP, which was outstanding, considering the fact he was a 23+ pointer for PSLE. However, I'm still a little saddened by how much I deteriorated through the years, when my fellow peers whose results hovered around mine got 4As and stuff, some pursuing Medical Degree, Law and stuff. Even though I can claim I don't hanker for such high achievements, nor such stressful university environment, there's still a pinch of regret why I haven't worked harder in Sec Sch and JC. Nevertheless, what's past is past. I think the right thing to do now is to look forward at my university years and do what I should do.Oh..before I forgot, belated birthday wishes to Ivan!! He's the first among us all to reach that milestone. I guess this is the Big year for us all as we all turn into adults officially and formally. People now see us in a different light, and we ourselves have be different, be different from what we were when we were kids. Also, we should all look back on the past 21 years of our lives. What did we do right and what did we do wrong? Are we really satisfied with everything? If you could live it over again, what would you change?Do not what you want to do...
But do what you should do...

My Life is Lovely
Friday night after work, our bunch of guys (excludn MJ) had a night of mind-bogging, thigh-aching, butt-pinching and fun-filled night cycling. It felt certainly good to do something odac-ish, especially so since we hardly done any since leaving school. Unfortunately, we could only split the esctasy among 6 funties. A little more wouldn't hurt.
The day (night) itself
Most of the guys went there after their day of work. Me was one of those who belonged to this category. The proposal stated that the meeting time was supposedly set at 2030hrs. However, the guys on reaching (late) found out that was hardly so. Worse, the bike shop that we frequent is closing and hence they grabbed some bikes. Reason I wasn't there was because I went home first. Lol...
When the (present) odacers arrived, we finally found out the reason. They had pledge alliance to a different bike shop. It was certainly some kind of "level-up" as their bike shop provided better bikes, front lite and back lite and even locks for the bikes, all this at a cost of +3SGD as compared to ours. Welcome...the 4th generation
The journey itself was perfect! With ppl like Leos & Biaos around, it seemed certain that we wouldn't need to associate with ppl 4 yrs our junior and perhaps make some awkward introduction like "Halow da jia! Wo de ming zi jiao !@#$%^&". We were Grp Zero in the hierachy and hence were full speed ahead of the young birds. The route was very different from ours - I guess every batch wanted to show that they weren't copycats lol.
Our initial journey brought upon an unexpected guest. We were cycling past this Lorong Ong Lye and saw this pretty familiar little girl, who made Lor OL her home. We chatted her up and made her cry instead of smiling. She rejected us and we left reeling our luck. Haha.. Alot of shit talk.
Our first major stop was chomp chomp. Wondering how this place got it name? One long before you were born day, a Gorilla was passing by this hawker centre full of fantastic food like red-hot-chilli-stingray, soy-sauce-too-much-liao-carrot-cake and finish-it-if-you-can-sugarcane. It was so hungry and so it stormed the food! Passer-bys reported hearing sounds that "chomp-chomp" and "burrrpp". Since burp is hardly a impressive name - it reminds hungry ppl of being full - the owners opted for chomp chomp. Just say it and you feel like eating! Chomp chomp is located at Serangoon Circles. Ok that's a whole load of crap - result of too much waiting time for my IC to reach. She's late for work - a hr half late?? - therefore I gotta wait for her for "advice". Anyway after chomping, 6 satisfied rangers set off in search for more food. That's how the way night cycling is, isn't it? Food + exercise = healthy person. Computer games + sleep = Joel. See the difference? Back to the topic, having alot of heart for tired legs, Heart diverted the rangers from the Dark Path. We skipped about 15 - 20mins of the route and ended up at Bishan centre 24hr-kopitiam. Thinking we were early, we decided to slack as much as we could. The great Biao had a headache and swallowed some white pills. I gobbled a char-siew bun. The rest ate their words and drank thirst quenchers. We set off for the Esplande. Well, the route was an eye-opener for the central dwellers. I, for one, didn't know such a route exists. I was so amazed that I started dreaming of cycling to Esplande myself, though I quickly abandoned the idea after realizing the distant possibility. Esplande was still pretty alive! It was about 0400hrs in the morning and the DXO-chiongers were just leaving. Many chose to rid their alcohol and dance fever at the bay. Other noctural animals made a freaking lot of noise, disturbing the peace and quiet that once filled the dawn waterfront. I had trouble keeping awake then as the Zee monster crept in. I suggested mounting the bikes quickly. We made haste for ECP.The final sprint proved to be the most treacherous part of our entire race. As we embarked on a very familiar route, we felt different from the past. Our bodies has remained in a state of inactivity for too long a period of time and suddenly an overnight stunt plus intensive cycling made it particularly difficult to finish the last part. Everyone was aching somewhere or another - Joel was crying for his ass. Myself, I'd to keep on pedalling before my quads cools and cramps. However, it felt nice travelling on the route we once took many many times, as recollection fell upon several of us. Back in ECP, we have to wait till 9am when only then the bike shop will be opened. We ate breakfast and stoned at McDonalds, trying to fight off the Zee monster as it took turns to infect us. While we were all in a dreamy half-asleep talking crap mode, one of their managers walked up to us and requested us to park our bikes elsewhere. We were about to get up and shift the bikes away when she shot out out of nowhere "alternatively, I can get the security to take the bikes away". We were taken aback by the pure rudeness of this manager, and Ivan immediately took action and did the Singaporean thing. The rest of us, though incested, were too lazy to bother. However, the drama didn't continue nor did the manager apologize. Ah whatever...Reaching home, I didn't felt a tint of fatigue. Perhaps it was the cosy sleep Joel & I had on the way home! Hahaha.. Anyway, so I contined my day activities as usual, with burning thighs as remains of last night's venture. Had a family dinner with my grandparents, my dad's bro's family and my family. I used to loathe these things but dunno since when I seemed to be a little more receptive and appreciative towards them. I went home and didn't sleep till 3am, total awake time being 44hrs. Wow, I wondered how I lasted.

Making Use of Available Resources
Good morning world! Half an hr ago, I dragged my half-dead body to my office. It was almost 0830 but the office ain't even half filled. So I was like phew.. I guess that's the way the civil sector works, or rather, ppl who work da gong. Because there is basically no incentive to work harder, no matter how garang u were when u first stepped in, eventually, u'll crumble and succumb to the natural human feelings. Imagine working in the same office for over 20yrs, your main & only purpose of going there is just to make the same 2000+/mth, does it really matter if you reach there like 0815 or 0835, just so that you can finish one more page of document? I would rather see it as a wayang thing. Just like MJ puts it, he reaches his office so that when the boss goes and look for him, he sees him there instead of rushing in at 0831. That brings me to another point, we must do the things we have to, and not what we want.15 mins ago, I was browsing through soccernet (as nobody is around and working yet) and I saw for the second time in four day, Arsenal fell to inferior opposition. What makes it worse is both of them are domestic cups, meaning that we're practically left with nothing this season, unless we pip Kop to the Champions League (well ivan claims they're going to win it). So sickening. Okay, why am I a Gunners' fan in the first place? When I was first asked which team I support, I chose them because the feeling felt right. That said, when I started to watch more matches it only affirmed my choice. The football they play is pure entertainment value, it's very me. It's the way I preceived the game. Even though I can't deny the game is all about winning, but I still believe in the way it is won. And I feel happy being able to enjoy an Arsenal match as a neutral.Mmm, enough of football talk. I wonder who still reads this blog now. But anyway it's just an avenue for me to practise writing so I won't go uni and like huh whats an essay. Ok lame. For me to sort out my thoughts some time, like when u sit in front of the computer with the empty post box, u start to think alot about things, about people, stuff that you don't do when u're on your way home or when u're rushing all over the place. To a great day for everyone!
