Time Shagged
2 days into the week, and I'm kinda choking already. Returning to work on Monday, I realized it's no longer the go-there-and-do-work-at-my-own-pace kind of environment. This is because I've to meet doctors as and when they come, so settle some bit of admin stuff. And so, I've to make frequent trips to the counter to attend to these new doctors. Being the kindest soul around, I volunteered to take over all counter duties these 2 weeks, as I felt that it would be unfair for the registration team to always answer my visit calls from the doctors (more fair for me to answer theirs?). Furthermore, to inflict the ultimate blow, everyday I've to stay back till 730pm to ensure that no doctors come and find nobody, which I admit could be a very sucky feeling. However, I don't really feel the strain despite putting in an extra 1.5hrs per day. I mean, think of the money, 1.5hrs per day for 2 weeks, that's a cool 2 days! Only drawback is I can't snap anyone this week. Nobody seemed to like a person who ends work at nearly 8pm when that time we're supposed to finish dining already. So... I guess meanwhile just gotta grit my teeth and work thru these 2 weeks. At least I take comfort in the extra cash that I'll be getting at the end of the month =)
As I've mentioned, I am and will be meeting doctors these 2 weeks. So while I'm slogging out in the office for their event, I can at the same time meet the very people whom I'm doing the event for. And doctors, like all people, come in all kind of shapes and sizes. There are really some pretty attractive doctors around, some that make you wish you would fall sick more often! On the other hand, when there's heads, there will be tails. Quoting my colleague, these doctors make you not feel like seeing them. I guess you're probably recover faster, since the doctors make you more sick so when you leave the clinic you will be like "hey why am I feeling so good all of a sudden"! Ok that's pretty mean.
Doctors are generally nice and polite, with reference to one of my past posts, they are either really so polite or they just have to because we're above em (sort of). So most of the time I would be really happy serving them =) (especially the pretty ones =D) But once in a while, I get one of those really rude doctors. I mean, I can't imagine how they can be professional to their patients and serve them in the right way when the way they're treating other people another way. They totally don't deserve to be doctors man! That's the problem with the system, anyone who can study gets through. But ultimately whether or not the person can fit in is another entire matter. And someone like him definitely does not qualify.
On a side note, I just wanna reiterate that looks are one of the most important things in a person. Not that I wanna think so, but the society thinks so. I mean the world is a superficial one. And however hard you wanna debate, you can't discount the first impression that people leaves on you. Just recently, I read a report in the newspapers that certain retail shops only hire handsome guys and pretty girls. I kinda agree on that strategy. I mean who would want to approach this really gross looking salesman/girl and ask for some assistance? The world is harsh man. Admit it.
