It's been a great weekend for me. It was so fully packed that I barely had a breather. But as I always say, weekends are meant to be fully made used of, so when you return to work on Monday, you feel energized and not feel shortchanged. You feel like you truly spent your weekend well and you feel recharged, not by additional rest, but by an interesting weekend of joy and laughter, away from work. It does wonders, really.

Friday

I ended work at 5.30pm (noticed it's not 1700hrs anymore! yay!) sharp! On time! That is because I've stopped all doctors coming down to sign their certs. Those irresponsible fools who don't follow datelines shall jolly well go and cry themselves while the rest take their ethical vow and collect their certs.

I met my new lunch partner. Well, she started work near me already, so I can meet her for lunch as and when she's not taken up elsewhere, nor me. She pangseh me far less than that idiotic loO. We were primary school mates, and it seemed strange how long we weren't in contact with each other, even though we went to schools opposite each other's. Till one freak incident in JC, where we got linked again. Now, we have the chance to bridge the unfamiliarity. I feel like she is a friend I would want to treasure and keep, just like all of you funties.

Dinner was ok lah, hai hao la. I went to get the stuff I needed, and then we did what I love most - walking. All in all, it was comfortable being around with her.

ORD Chalet

Who the hell does a chalet for ORD anyway? Hahaha.. But I didn't find it quite ridiculous. It's fairly acceptable, and whats more I just wanted to see my mates. So after I went home, I rushed, change, bathed, packed, and was out of the house swiftly to catch the last bus to sentosa. The island is very much changed, since the last time I went there. The front reception area where the buses used to change was gone. Many tram stations stood on the island. It looked very modernised, and new.

Nice hor?

Anyway, most of the guys went clubbing, something which I don't really see the point of, unless the day was someday exceptional. And so, there were about 5 guys left, including me. But I was pretty much satisfied cos those whom I wanted to see and talk with were there. On the way there, I sort of took a journey back to tekong, and realized my HQ days was in actual fact quite a thing to reminiscise. Last time, I wouldn't think I would share some unique bond with a group of guys (funty not counted cos it started as a mix grp). But now I know, with the right ppl around, anything can happen. No gay-ness involved, but meeting them after this long while, I felt happy. I miss the days when you work for like half an hour, then take a 5 mins break, walk around the whole office chatting with ppl; the canteen breaks we used to take, jio-ing every single one in our clique; the soccer sessions, few and far between but still as fun as ever, at the basketball courts where the recruits watch in envy; the booking out together. After so long, you looked back on the days when you weren't FREE as now, strangely, you long to go back.

Sky and meee

Saturday

Straight after the chalet, I went home and rushed to Jurong West where the guys were playing futsal. Personally, I think the pitch is nice, though boots would be perhaps a better playing footwear. However, it was good playing with other people. At least now I know what's important is not whether the person fouled me after he failed to get the ball, because there is no ref to judge it at all, whats more important is to not let the foul affect u one single bit. CJ is a living example. I think I need to buck up!

After football, we went CJ's house to work on one big project. It took 3 & 1/2 guys a hell of a time (and scotch tape) to finish it. We were so proud of ourselves. And although we gladly took up responsibility, we just quietly wondered why the guys did the choosing and stuff when it obviously would be more appropriate if the girls lent a helping hand. Not that we are complaining though, cos every single one big project, we kinda have fun planning it.

Sunday

My extended family celebrated Mom's Day one week in advance. We went CHIJMES, one posh little Chinese restaurant for lunch. Just like one of my uncles put it, we paid for the ambience. The food was by far the most crappy I've tasted in these restaurants, the service slow, the portions little. Nothing in the restaurant was good, even the ladies in the Qi Pao weren't good looking. I wonder how it survives.

Evening. The funty gang met again, this time at Kenny Rogers to celebrate a certain Ms Png's birthday. I ain't gonna be surprised if Shirley forgets who the birthday grl was, or what her name is. So for Shirley's sake, please remember it's our dear WINNIE's birthday!

I enjoy myself everytime the funties have a get-together. I can't explain why, but somehow being around with the funtypeople makes people laugh abit more. And sometimes you think you've become funnier because of these people.

Winnie got a mini-cooper on her birthday! Now she can drive it around, though she can't drive herself around, nor anyone else, nor out of the house. Cos it's just a 1/9 version of the real thing, with batteries included. I think the guys who found it were really cool. I definitely can't find such a toy. MJ got her cuties, which I thought was kinda sweet of him, finally showing some guy-sense. And me, realizing I didn't play any part in choosing the presents, gave a card. So proud of myself. *nods* =)

MJ's cuties. Very cute!!

Oh... And the birthday grl was wearing our (qian li song er mao) gift in Thailand! That's so nice of her. The Thailand quad are all very touched - ok maybe not Joel. Mmm... I've got a feeling Winnie won't like me posting that photo. Sorry =X

Look how happy the birthday grl is! She looks overwhelmed by the (size of the) presents.

The birthday grl asked to take a photo with me! Haha... I felt like a star (ya right). Anyway, both of us realized photos we take together almost always turn up the same, so we tried to do a unglam shot. But no I ain't gonna post that, cos Ms Png just can't do an unglam with the camera shooting.

I felt blessed to have such a friend to celebrate her birthday for =)
