Release

The gloom of darkness lifts partially
For the first time in months
He caught a glimpse of day
The one light of hope
Spelling the descend of the night
Yet rebound is incomplete
As twilight ligers near
Eternally existent
In the shadows of sunshine

A new lease of life
Sustained on borrowed time
A life-saving buoy in rampant waters
Prolonged what would be a premature end
Reciprocal is certain
For no dog bites the hand that feeds it
And no man tramps those who lifted him
But repayment must be within one’s capacity
