If there was a timeline of events, last Saturday's activities significies the near of the end of odac '03. As we near the finishing line, few would actually look back and think about the times our batch had went through. Many may actually be glad to relieved of the duties or committments this thing had 'burdened' us, but for others I would say it was an honour. Few would dispute that the best times lies before the unfortunate selection where many of our closest acquaintances become part of our lives. While many had mentioned that the advantage this crop of young odac'ers had over us veterans is to have the selection earlier and save much sadness, my optimistic view led me to think that with the extra time we had we actually forged more friendships and stronger bonds. Furthermore, we had more time to spend with each other and few would argue when I say it had been well spent.
Friends aside, this one and a half years had moulded us, character-wise and skills-wise. Numerous experiences we had could only aid our future endeavours, and the many life skills and interpersonal skills we gained will serve us well next time. I would proudly say each and everyone of us had grown and be enriched in some way or another.
As we approach the end, last Saturday was really one of the last we would share together. To think that play would be halted into the early minutes, spirits were dampened. But what's up next was really something unexpected, where all of us went barefooted and tried to play soccer on the flooded field. All the mud on our clothes, some blisters here and there, and fun everywhere. Well, I wouldn't exchange 5 movies, one afternoon of LAN, and one day of pure rest at home for that. To think one our our last activites would end this way, totally unexpected yet totally worth it. Undescibable. You just have to experience it yourself...
