It's been more than a mth since I touched blogger. And the past mth has been nth short of eventful and exciting.

Well, the beginning of December is probably one of my busiest work life. The arrival of my understudy makes HQ life a little more meaningful than mudane work. However, it means I have to be damn on-the-ball and set a good example, so that he can get the attitude and direction right in the first place. I know it's quite a pointless thing but I actually do take some pride in being a 3SG in an admin environment. I mean...it's all you can see. Those people who stay back after work to finish unfinished stuff, come back from leave & MC, come back on Saturdays, those are the responsible ones, the people who will give a damn. And honestly you don't see clerks doing these. It takes a certain level of committment, and thats what I want my understudy to have. And a sense of responsibility.

Darn I typed a whole lot of crap but I deleted it. Shall try to recall.

After squeezing a mth of crazy work into 2 weeks, I took a break and went on a trip with 4 funties to Bangkok, Thailand. I'd to really thank MJ and Biao for doing a lot of planning, booking of hotels and even learning the language. Joel and I had a planned-tour trip...for FREE! Thailand was wonderful, for several reasons. First, everything is cheap. We went on a crazy shopping trip and bought uncountable tee shirts and many more stuff. Second, we went gaga over Daytona and Initial D, basically racing games. We challenged each other until our credits went out, our coins were gone and pockets lightened. Third, the morning air is perfect. Fresh and cooling. It had a refreshing and mood-liftin effect. A pity we only enjoyed one morning of it. Fourth, our accommodation was shiok! For peanuts, we had a 8 man bunk to ourselves for most part of the stay, and some fine company at the end of it. In addition, the hotel (actually hostel) provides breakfast, which was nice, wasn't exactly wonderful...just nice. Fifth, Pataya was not bad. Even though looking back I would have prefered to stay at Bangkok for 1 more day, for the 4-hr journey to and fro was almost unbearable. We would have cut down considerably on expenses if not for the stay at the resort which is just another Downtown East. But, it was still nice to be there, near the beach, chill out and idle our time away.

Photos to be out soon.

Christmas was lovely. The funties didn't meet up this year, as for the past few years since we were formed we did. Year one and counting. How many Christmas will we miss?

Back to work, I'd a hell week. The last week of every mth is my busiest. Add to the fact it's the last mth of the year. I've like a thousand-and-one things to settle at work. Up to the point that on Friday, when everyone else left at 5 sharp, I'd to stay till 630 to finish up everything, tidy up, make sure that during my long vacation everything will be in place and nothing will go wrong.

Spending New Year Eve holding a rifle. Counting down at the ferry terminal. Doing my last regimental duty as Guard on NY Eve. Nothing could be worse. Add to the fact of not spending NY Eve with my better half. It all goes to wallowing in self-pity.
